Last weekend I visited MoMA and noted the deli slicer, the design of which hasn't changed much since it's inception. It's also ironic that I do what I do and I'm from Troy, Ohio. No matter where I go, I find a Hobart slicer or grinder.

The overall design of deli slicers today is pretty darn similar, less a few changes to make the slicer more easily cleaned and by removing "harborage sites" (snags or holes where bugs like Listeria like to hang out).
